Dream State have only been together since late 2014 and are already signed to UNFD after the success of their music video for their song 'White Lies' which quickly got a million views on Dreambound not long after the music video was released and it now has just over 5 million views  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwkUq3cXe8o The band are always full of energy and emotion no matter what and they really do show it in their music videos and their live performances and the fans notice how much emotion they put into their performances as well as their songs. Take Today Interview

Image
We caught up with Paul and Lewis from Take Today. 1. You have an EP coming out soon, how long has that been in the making? Paul: After the release of our debut album ‘Choices’ we got to work right away on new material, we wrote a bunch of new tracks and we felt the 3 tracks we recorded suited the concept of ‘Rise Above’ and what the title means. 2. You're performing at the Garage G2 to release you're EP, are you nervous about it at all? Paul: Not nervous, we are more excited for the show, we can’t wait to release the new EP at our biggest headline show to date. Lewis: I think we're more excited to play more than anything, Garage is a great venue and headlining it with our EP launch is an absolute dream. 3. Is your new material different from your old? Paul: Yeah, this is a new direction for us, we put ourselves out of our comfort zone Lewis: I think it's natural that it's different from our older stuff. It's been two years since our last

Fear Me December Interview

We caught up with Victoria from Fear Me December 1. Who or what inspired you and your band to play the genre that you play? I think that 2000 ´s nu metal music was the most biggest influence for us, you know when we used to dress with big black cargo pants, studs bracelets, carrying around a Discman everywhere listening to Meteora...classic 2000 `s rock teenager. Having the constant influence of that music in our lives created a breaking point where you go: this is the music I love, I want to play that riff on the guitar (and you think about ´Last Resort') 2. Do you think there's enough female fronted bands being given an opportunity to perform at festivals? I think that if we are talking about big festivals the answer is yes, it could be definitely more female fronted bands playing at big festivals right now, I can think of at least ten big bands with female fronted bands on the top of my head. Years ago you barely saw FFB (female fronted band to make it

Young States Interview

Image
We recently caught up with Young States, Georgia (singer/bassist) and talked about music videos, music and other questions below! Enjoy the interview! 1. Who or what inspired you to play the genre that you play? One of the first bands that got me into this genre was Mallory Knox, so I would say them for sure! 2. You've performed with the likes of New Year's Day, Trashboat, The Gospel Youth and Altered Sky, how did you feel about supporting them? It was awesome to be able to support those bands! Also nerve racking because those gigs had some good crowds, and the bigger the crowd, the more nervous I get. 3. How did you get the opportunity to support New Year's Day? I think that was down to our manager! If I remember right NYD wanted a local support for their Norwich show so Jon put us forward for the slot. 4. You're an all female rock band, do you think that make your band stand out more in any way? Sometimes, but not necessarily for the righ

Pretty Addicted Interview

Image
We recently got to interview Pretty Addicted and it was probably the best interview I've done with the most creative answers. Enjoy the interview! 1. Who are your influences? Marilyn Manson is my biggest influence. I have loved him since I was a teenager and I think he is just amazing in every way. He has inspired my image, my music and my life and will forever inspire me. 2. What's the top 3 bands you've performed with? Ooh that's a tough one because we have worked with so many cool bands and have developed really good friendships with nearly everyone we have ever played with. However, the top 3 that spring to mind are Pulverise, Hands Off Gretel and The Soapgirls. All really amazing bands and people, people I consider friends and people we support fully in everything they do, as they support us in everything we do. I can't big all these guys up enough. Check them out immediately if you haven't already! 3. Are you working on any new music? We h

Perpetua Interview

1.     Who are your influences? We all have a lot of varying influences but most of them boil down the riffy bands like Gojira, early Machine Head and Metallica, Sylosis etc. We just love bands with BIG riffs. That being said we love some of the cheesiest 80s/ 90s pop and rock as well but that doesn’t really make it’s way into our songwriting thankfully! 2. You recently announced that you're supporting Bleed From Within at Glasgow, how do you feel about this opportunity? This is our second time playing with them. We put our name in for it a while back and it all got approved and we’re really happy about it. Over the years we’ve become a bit friendlier with the BFW guys so I think they were pretty happy to have us on the bill too which is much better for us. Being friends with them just makes everything so much easier on the day of the show really. Being Scottish ourselves, we’re lucky that we’ve got a good fanbase here already so it makes it more special for us to

Female Guitarists in the rock and metal music industry

Image
Guitar has always been a popular instrument for people to play. It's an instrument that a lot of people want to learn. There's more and more females becoming musicians and it's amazing to see. I think most female  musician s  tend to go for guitar and vocals than any other instruments. Female  musician s  are a lot more accepted than they were before.    There's a lot of amazing female guitarists on YouTube playing amazing covers. A female guitarist I watch on YouTube is  Jess  Woess  who also shows off her talent by covering the likes of Tonight Alive, Metallica, A Day  To  Remember and many more. One of the first covers I watched of her was lonely girl by Tonight Alive and I loved her playing and I ended up watching more and more of her videos.    Another female YouTube guitarist I watch is  JJ's one girl band   who posts covers by bands such as Avenged Sevenfold, Slipknot, Skillet, Metallica, Sum 41 and many more. Showing off her amazing s
