Century Thirteen Interview

Image
I recently interviewed Century Thirteen, one of the first bands I seen live when they supported Altered Sky in 2015. I hope you all enjoy my interview with this amazing band. 1. How did you all meet?  Kevin and Lewis used to be in a band together back in 2012- 2013 which ended when the bass player quit. Still wanting to continue writing music they looked for new band members, this time deciding to go for a four-piece instead of a trio. Kevin contacted Scott – the two were friends and had previously worked in the same job together - Kevin knew that Scott was a singer-songwriter and a good guitarist, so invited Scott to jam with them, and they immediately clicked in the studio. Dale joined shortly afterwards after responding to an advert as the band were still looking for a bassist – and it turned out Dale had actually grown up with the bass player from Kevin and Lewis’s previous band! So in a way things came full circle. The line-up of the band has stayed the same ever since.

Eva Play's Dead Interview

1. Your EP 'The Fix' is coming out soon, how long have you been working on it for?  Wow , I'd not thought about how long … probably about 2 years. Isn't that crazy how time flies!  2. Was there ever a point that you had second thoughts about releasing or recording the EP?  No, never. This EP is good and it's about something important which means a lot to a lot of people. I'm proud of what we've created.  3.Tiggy, you've recently opened up to people about having Bi-polar and have helped out a lot of people by answering their questions, how do you feel about all the support? Did you think you were going to get this much support? We're all proud of you for opening up. First of all, thank you. The reason I have started opening up about my issues is because for many years I've tried to play the 'strong woman’ role, but that's mentally exhausting and I was in a position where I couldn't handle myself and became suicidal. I didn

James Haynes Interview

We recently caught up with James and his backing vocalist Chris. We talked about influences and the upcoming single 1. Who inspired you to play music? J: I was keen on music from a really early age, I was always influenced by so many different genres of music, but recently upon discovering the likes of City & Colour and John Mayer have fallen in love with their sound and wanted to be able to replicate what they could do, unfortunately no where near that standard as of yet. 2. What made you decide to go down the solo route? J: I Founded a band, named Adelante, but took a hiatus from the band to pursue my own originals project when there were some tensions between us. I play drums for Adelante who have recently reformed with an amended line up, but I have decided to continue writing and performing the solo material as its a seperate passion of mine. It came about around September 2017 after I thought the curtains would close on the band. 3. ‎How long have yo

Sumo Cyco at the Audio Glasgow

Sumo Cyco returned to Glasgow on the 20th March with Skarlett Riot. Joining them was Altered Sky for the night. A great female fronted lineup that people love and that you don't actually get that often. Myself and David arrived at the audio around 4 o'clock and found Danny Oglesby outside who talked to us for a bit as well as Tim from Sister Shotgun who stood in as bassist for Skarlett Riot most of the tour. We later talked to Chloe Drinkwater for a bit and talked about the tour so far.  We heard Sumo Cyco and Skarlett Riot soundcheck which sounded amazing. We heard Skye singing a bit of 'I will always love you' by Whitney Houston and added a bit of metal to it. Whitney Houston turns metal. One of the best things about the gig is that the bands are always so approachable and don't mind talking to people and getting pictures. When the show got underway it started off with Altered Sky who played chilling music as they walked onto the stage and w
