1. You're a character metal band, how did the idea come about to do this? I guess it started when I wrote Bloodshed in Wonderland . Ididnt realise thats what I was creating , by putting myself in Alice's shoes, then playing the doctor, I was starting down the path of chracter metal . Then Iwrote mad love and the music was made to fit harley , and I knew it had to be told from harleys perspective, sang in her New York accent. I enjoyed  the process and becoming Harley so much I realised that that's what I wanted to do going  forword. I realised there were so many possiblilities, and ways to musically, vocally, and lyrically express a character. It's a lot of fun to write and to perform, and it's a challenge, but it's incredibly rewarding to step back and think, yeah, that song fits that character. 2. Do you think that makes your band stand out? I think we've definitely created a weird little niche of our own, and each song is quite different to the ...

Sertraline Interview

1. What band's influence your music style? Anything with a good mix of groovy, powerful, etherial; bands ranging from Tesseract and Monuments to Pendulm and those songs Will Smith did for the Men in Black films (Mike) Periphery, Northlane, Architects, VOLA - really into all of the progressive metal at the moment! My influences are very diverse though, I'm not scared of pop music. PVRIS is one of my favourite bands, in love with Lynn Gunn's voice! Also I am a huge Ariana Grande fan, she's so effortless. (Lizzie) Metallica, Pantera (Big shout out to Vinnie Paul in light of his recent passing) Soundgarden and Faith No More in the early days. My main influence as a bass player would have to be Jason Newstead. The guy could rule a stage and the energy he used to give off was raw and brutal. (Hendo) Recent influences - Northlane, Tesseract, Monuments, Veil Of Maya, Periphery, Vola. Older influences - Pantera, Protest The Hero, August Burns Red, In Flames. (Tom) ...

FEAR ME DECEMBER - BRAND NEW EP AND TOUR SET TO BE ANNOUNCED

Image
Rising Melodic metallers FEAR ME DECEMBER set loose their spanking new EP, Crystallized, through all platforms on Friday 7th September. FEAR ME DECEMBER are an accomplished Anglo-Argentinean quartet who were originally formed in 2012 by vocalist and bassist Victoria Cabanellas and Valentin Macagno. After receiving strong support for their debut EP, Who Cares, the band decided to relocate to England in 2014. Soon after, they delivered their debut album Between Violence and Silence. The record widened the heavy rocker's reach and fanbase, however FEAR ME DECEMBER were struggling with personnel. In 2017, after a lenghy search, the band recruited Tony Small on drums and Stuart Woolley on rhythm guitar. With a heavier sound and fresh impetus, the alternative rock crew began to reshape and craft an original set and pen tunes for their forthcoming new EP. The foursome were recently snapped up by Reaction Management ( Altered Sky) , and they have also just completed work on their f...

End of Daze Interview

1. What's the top 3 bands you've performed with? That is such a hard question. Genuinelly so diffuclt. We've played with so many great bands. Some that come to mind are bands like Griever, Saint (the) Sinner and Death Remains. We've got shows coming up with bands such as Hacktivist, The Royal, Of Virtue and InVisions, so that list could change. Who knows? 2. How has your writing process changed between the first and second album? We just as a whole got better. In every way, I think we just got better. The writing is far more mature, and releatable. You will struggle not to nod your head when a big riff hits. 3. When can we expect the second album to surface and what can we expect from it? Hopefully 2019. I know. It's taken AGES, but life gets in the way. You can expect to be blown away if you're expecting the second coming of Ascension. 4. How did you come up with the name End of Daze? There is no real story. It just kind of happened at a band m...

WOLVES DON'T SLEEP - NEW TRACK AND VIDEO SET TO BE RELEASED

Image
Nottingham heavyweights, 'WOLVES DON'T SLEEP' offer a different edge to the Metalcore genre. With stout tones and immense drumming, framed by potent lyrics and commanding vocals, 'WOLVES DON'T SLEEP' hurl out their new single, Hope Won't Set You Free, on Friday 3rd August. Uncompromising and unstoppable, 'WOLVES DON'T SLEEP' first hit the scene in 2015, however, a revolving door of personnel hindered the band's trajectory. Now, with a settled and solid line-up, the ferocious quintet are set to take their formidable sound to the masses. They have just completed work on their new single, Hope Won't Set You Free, with Steven Jones (Bleed From Within, From Sorrow to Serenity), and the end result is simply huge. Burly riffs and pounding beats, the new track marks a shift  in direction for the band, and one that will be explored even more on their next record. Touring is also on the agenda for the Brit Bruisers. Already widely regarded ...

The Weight of Atlas

Image
The Weight of Atlas are a post hardcore band based between Edinburgh and Dundee in Scotland, UK. The band released their first EP 'Reflections' in 2015 via We are Triumphant. This release featured Garrett Rapp (The Color Morale, Fearless Records) and Cory Brunnemann (Through Arteries) which saw the band attract hundreds of thousands of streams and downloads across YouTube and Spotify. All the hard work of this EP really paid off as they soon later toured the UK 3 times over a two year period which is amazing as it shows how far they're getting in such a short space of time, and have also done their cover of Taylor Swift's 'Style' which sounds way better than the original. This band have some sick breakdowns, emotional and powerful lyrics and lively energy. They also have some harsh screams, heavy beats and low tuned guitars. This band really do show power and emotion in all of their songs and show their passion for their music in their live perfo...
